Positivity Week

Positivity Week took place at the end of January for all in our school community. The purpose of this focus on positivity was to provide some balance to the pervasive news of political gloom, cyberbullying, bad weather and media coverage of international disasters, terrorism etc. Often children are too aware of such serious issues and can sense the effects of adult stress and worry. The basic idea is to get everyone to laugh a little more and generally be nice to one another. There were lots of activities throughout the week such as our Compliment Tree, Joke of the Day, Positive News Assembly, Drop Everything And Dance, Meditation, Yoga, Golden Rules reminders, Friendship games and much more that had everyone smiling and laughing. Key to our week were the 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey. For more information see www.theleaderinme.org.
