Sports and the Curriculum

In St. Patrick’s NS, we aim to provide a broad and balanced physical education programme. We also aim to encourage pupil’s skills and talents in the area of sports while offering them opportunities to certain sports they may never access.

Specialist coaching is offered throughout the year as part of our in-school PE progamme including GAA, gymnastics and swimming.

GAA coaching is provided free of charge every Wednesday by our local GAA club, Stars of Erin.

We also have a coach from Leinster Rugby visit our school each week.

We have after schools activities that include yoga, playball and dance.

Senior pupils (3rd – 6th) visit Baltinglass Adventure Centre in June for a variety of activities under the Outdoors & Adventure Activities Strand. These include orienteering, kayaking, rock climbing, archery & hiking.
