Fun with Magnets – Junior Infants

Junior Infants had great fun exploring  magnets is all shapes and sizes in science last week. We learned that the two ends of a magnet are called poles. Red is the North Pole and blue is the South Pole. Poles that are the same repel each other and poles that are different attract each other. Magnets attract metal. Spoons, money, kettles and scissors have metal in them. We learned the difference between wood and metal. Chairs and table tops are made out of wood and so are rolling pins and pegs. Some things are made of  metal and wood. We also colored our worksheet to show things that a magnet attracts.
