On Thursday 3rd March we celebrated World Book Day . This is the biggest global celebration of books and a wonderful promotion of the enjoyment of reading.
We started the day with DEAR time; ‘Drop Everything And Read’. Even the staff got to relax with their classes with a good book!!
After break 4th & 5th class took part in paired reading with Junior classes. The children really enjoyed this.
After big lunch it was the turn of 5th-6th to have a Table quiz all about books. With 12 teams it came down to a tie breaker!! Congratulations to all the winners of book tokens and books on the day.
While this was going on the other class had lots of fun literacy activities. And for homework… curl up with a good book! It was a great day and we hope to have many more World Book Days in St. Patrick’s NS!!
