Toyota Art Competition – During Home-Schooling

Our own 4th class pupil, Alannah entered into the Toyota ‘Build a better world’ Art Competition.Alannah made a 5 sec Stop Motion animation using her lego and she won the 8-11 year old category. The Theme was ‘Friends & Family’. Alannah gave the following description:

“The idea behind my stop motion animation was that even in the making of the art piece I felt happy to be thinking of what it will feel like to be able to enjoy getting back together to have fun with my friends and family. My animation is about the normal day to day activities that we sometimes take for granted and it’s only now we realise how special these times were”.

Mobile Music School

Before we finished up in March our 3rd-6th class pupils have just started a 10 week programme with the Mobile Music School, they have really enjoyed the first 2 lessons and they are focusing on the ‘Learning and Exploring elements of the music curriculum. This interactive, fun and activity-based programme introduces children to the world of music and aims to give every child who participates a firm musical foundation. Each class discovers the components that make up music that includes the conductor and composer; the beat and rhythm; listening and responding to music from around the world; composing music, music notation and song singing. During the programme children will take part in many classroom performances
