Congratulations to our 5th class who have reached the National Finals of the Irish Aid Our World Awards!!! We are so proud of each of our pupils & the work they have put into their project ‘The Plastic Ocean’.
Today our 3 representatives, Alai, Craig & Maresa attended the Regional Finals where they shared their project summary at the Dept. of Education & Skills. Jim Gavin, Dublin manager, spoke to the audience about his work in Sudan with the Defence Forces and commended the children on their work sharing the message of the Global Goals. After each school received a plaque for reaching the final 15 in Leinster, the moment arrived to announce the 3 schools moving forward to the finals! We couldn’t believe it when our school was called out! Amazing!! After numerous photos for the press, it was time to head back to school to share the good news. And of course we celebrated with icecream for the whole class!!!
On June 20th our whole class will head to Dublin Castle as one of the 12 schools who have reached the finals. We wish them the very best of luck!! And remember, reduce your use of plastic, reuse what plastic you can & recycle any plastic you have!!
St. Patrick’s N.S. is a seven teacher school, situated in Glencullen (Gleann Cuilinn – The valley of the holly) about eleven miles from Dublin city centre. Built originally as a two teacher school in 1947, our school has grown in size and reputation.
