Christmas 2013

Ms Byrne's WorkshopWhat a magical Christmas we had in St. Patrick’s NS this year. It all began on December 1st with our amazing Christmas Fair and live Crib. Not only did this event raise an extraordinary €9,500 for our school but everyone enjoyed the fun of the Cinema, Santa’s Grotto, the Book Room, Hospitality Room, Games Room and Hall of Stalls. Sincere thank you to Amanda O’Hanlon (parent) and her host of elfish volunteers for such an extraordinary event.

Our Barnardos Christmas Appeal also took place where families generously donated gifts and food to children in other parts of Dublin. This year St. Patrick’s NS school community provided 120 children’s gifts, 13 hampers and a variety of large toys & bikes. The staff of Barnardos were overwhelmed with such kindness. Many children will be having a happy Christmas thanks to you!

Back in the classroom, our pupils engaged in lots of fun Christmas activities in all subjects of the curriculum and our school was transformed into Santa’s Wonderland with all the beautiful artwork.

As this is Ms. Byrne’s last year as a Teaching Principal she had a big surprise in store for her 6th class, with ‘Ms. Byrne’s 12 Days of Christmas’ with daily surprises of fun and laughter.

To finish off the celebrations, we all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas show organised by our hardworking teachers. With Infants performing ‘Ralph the Reindeer’, 1st & 2nd class performing ‘The Nativity’, 3rd class performing ‘Elves on Strike’ and finally 4th, 5th & 6th class joining on stage for Christmas carols, it was a fantastic end to our first term in St. Partick’s NS!
