Ancient Greece

This month we learned all about Ancient Greece; we even put on a play. In our play we had 3 narrators Niall, Cíara and me. We had the Spartans, Athenians, Persians and Trojans as our 4 main armies. Throughout the play they were at war. In the play we also covered the famous Trojan horse story that ended the 10 years of war between the Trojans and the Greeks.

We also learned a bit about Greek mythology and the gods. We learned that Zeus was the god of lightening, that Hades was the god of the underworld and Poseidon was the god of the sea.

We learned the story of Cupid and Pysche and we drew scenes from this famous story.

We also learned about the Ancient Olympics and how they were made for the Greek god
Zeus. The Olympic torch was lit in the temple of Hera who was the Greek goddess
of women.

We learned about Greek families and their slaves that they kept if they were rich. We looked a schools and life in Ancient Greece and we did lots of activities including letters, diary entries, web pages and holiday brochures.

That’s just a little bit of the work we did on Greece we learned so much more that I just can’t fit it in!
